The program started as a chair-based fitness program in 1992. SilverSneakers has grown from 15 locations to more than 15,000 local community centers and national gyms. WebIf you have a Medicare Advantage or Medigap plan, your health insurance may include a free fitness membership for adults 65+ called SilverSneakers. A SilverSneakers membership includes access to roughly 14,000 recreation centers, churches, senior communities, and other neighborhood locations across the nation.
