Web12 apr. 2024 · The Gurkhas, a group of unknown soldiers from the mountainous regions of Nepal, were brought to the world’s attention when the British East India Company invaded them over two centuries ago. The British, armed with advanced firearms, were met with fierce resistance by the Gurkhas armed with traditional Kukri knives. WebAfter their initial loss, the British East India Company extended a peace treaty to the group, which included a request to open up a section of the British Army to Gurkha soldiers. The Gurkha’s have been part of the British Army since then, and have gone into battle with them many times over the past 200 years.
